Effective November 1 2011: Due to changes in federal funding priorities SATOP will only be accepting Requests for Technical Assistance from small businesses located in the State of Texas.

SATOP continues to pursue funding to support its future nationwide operations. Once new funding is secured SATOP will resume the acceptance of Requests for Technical Assistance nationwide. A notification will be placed on the website when this occurs. All U.S. based small businesses are encouraged to click on the RTA “Submit” button (on left side) and fill out the contact form to let us know that you are interested in receiving technical assistance.
SATOP is Space Technology for
Small Business

The Space Alliance Technology Outreach Program (SATOP) strives to transfer the knowledge and technology of the space program to small businesses. Any type of small business is encouraged to submit a technical challenge to SATOP. If SATOP is able to assist, the small business is provided with up to 40 hours of FREE technical assistance from a scientist or engineer in the Space Program.
Economic Development Organizations
A key part of SATOP’s communications strategy has been to form alliances with Economic Development Organizations (EDO) to raise awareness of the program’s offer of free technical assistance for small businesses..

That strategy has been a resounding success thanks to the ongoing efforts of EDOs such as the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County Fla. (BDB).

SATOP’s Space Alliance Partners include private corporations, universities, and NASA centers in Florida, New Mexico, New York, and Texas that volunteer their time and expertise to assist small businesses via SATOP.
