The Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership (BAHEP) is a nonprofit organization focusing on the
retention, expansion and recruitment of primary jobs and industry in the Bay Area Region. Bay Area
Houston Economic Partnership was organized in 1985 by local leaders who wanted to see the community
continue to expand and diversify. Investing in this continued expansion and diversification are
approximately 235 Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership members who are dedicated to supporting
Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership’s focused and aggressive efforts.

Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership’s mission is to provide the leadership necessary to
stimulate economic development and primary employment in the Bay Area Region. The goal is to
develop and utilize responsible, well-planned methods to attract, retain, and expand industry
that is compatible with the high quality of living enjoyed by the people in the area. Bay Area
Houston Economic Partnership’s primary objectives are to:
- Sustain a flexible planning mechanism to continually address the current and future economic objectives
of the area and membership.
- Nurture proactive outreach programs that attract new business for growth and diversification.
- Continue processes that assist existing business and industry with maintaining and expanding their markets.
- Provide sustained leadership to facilitate effective coalitions among regional entities to achieve Bay
Area Houston Economic Partnership’s mission.
Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership, in partnership with the Johnson Space Center, has hosted the
Space Alliance Technology Outreach Program (SATOP) since November 1998. The program has had tremendous
success operating within the confines of the Houston Metropolitan Area and is expecting even greater
results out of its statewide expansion. The SATOP program has established itself as Bay Area Houston
Economic Partnership’s leading economic development and business retention tool by lending its free
assistance to over 100 customers since its inception.
