Please take a minute to verify that your business and challenge meet all the following requirements:
  • Only small businesses (less than 500 employees) can request technical assistance. Individuals / Inventors do not qualify.

  • The business must be owned and operated in the United States.

  • Businesses must be able to provide a copy of their business license.

  • The request must have a distinct and identifiable technical challenge.

  • The technical challenge must appear to be solvable in the 40-hour time allotment.

  • Request must not compete with commercially available products or services.

  • The requesting company must have a prototype, specific drawings or a patent.

  • The requesting company must assign a point of contact that is available to interact with SATOP through phone calls and emails.

  • A company that has received SATOP’s assistance must wait at least 6 months after their request has been closed before submitting a new project to SATOP.
Note: Due to the success of this program, the high demand for assistance and a finite level of resources, SATOP has to prioritize the projects it can work on.

(Also, keep in mind that SATOP does not work on software or information technology related challenges. SATOP cannot help fund your project, build a prototype or compete with commercially available services and / or products).
